Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham McAllen

I would've rate it a 5 star but it happens to be your bar lounge was closed of all of days I choose to stay here, hopefully next time I come back it will be open but other than that everything was great.

This hotel is central to the highway and where i needed to go. There are 3+ restaurants within walking distance, plenty of parking. I wish it wasn't windy otherwise I would've used the pool which is a good size. There is even mini-golf on the side of the building. When I went, there were alot of National Guard folks staying in the hotel. My room was suite with a king bed. I loved the blackout curtains. I loved the wooden flooring and tile flooring in the bathroom (i feel like carpet at hotels look and feel kind of dirty). There was a mini kitchen with full size fridge, an area for me to eat and work. Really enjoyed my room and got good night's rest. I needed a receipt for check =out and forgot but i called they answered right away and got me what i needed asap. I really appreciated that! Pros: speedy check in, great staff, free breakfast and dinner, free beer. Great gym with enough equipment to get a good workout in. Full bar, gorgeous lobby. Housekeeping doesn't come in, unless you ask. Good, because it's more sustainable. Cons: you could hear all conversations in the hallway but luckily it was quiet at 10PM, dinner wasn't that healthy

Very clean, contemporary, place, friendly, helpful staff, free draft beer at happy hour. Dinner is fair but nothing to get excited about. The rooms are spacious and we'll thought out. However, there is no carpet, so you may want to wear socks. There is not enough power outlets and the bedroom lighting is poor. The window shades block a considerable amount of light, so sleeping late is very easy. There is poor water pressure, toilet takes 3-4 flushes and the shower is fairly week. The chest of drawers are very small and there is not much closer space. But, there is a full size refrigerator, adequate sink and a two burner stove. Overall, it's a very nice place for a short/ extended stay.

Had stayed at an Airbnb prior to staying at this hotel. My room was super clean, great contrast to the dirty and ugly Airbnb. The sheets were white, looked and smell clean, faint smell of Clorox that made me feel at ease, like at home. I over extended my stay due to this fact. Would highly recommend this Hawthorn Extended Stay hotel. Location was great, well lit and very safe neighborhood, many shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again on my next trip coming from Montana.

Very clean room with polite and friendly front desk staffs, near a lot of stores and even walmart in McAllen. Very quiet at night. The hot water came out fast. Bed was comfortable :) Will stay again.

Nice place to stay but I would recommend upgrading your internet,washers and dryers. The washer's and dryers are extremely out dated and Internet is EXTREMELY SLOW.

I would give my stay at this Hotel 5 stars, but there are two things that would really help change this review. 1. The washers and dryers are old and dated, which causes clean laundry to not smell so clean. 2. With Breakfast being the only meal offered I would recommend having more of a variety on a daily basis, sort of like a buffet style breakfast and not serving certain items you would typically see on a lunch menu.

Nice staff! Pleasant guests. Comfy beds, relaxing rooms! I felt at home, safe and comfortable. Location is great for all things, food, entertainment and shopping!! I would definitely stay here again!
